The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a two-year professional teacher education programme offered by Shri Nityanand Jha School of Education (SNJSOE), Sandip University, Sijoul, Madhubani, Bihar. The programme is designed in accordance with NEP 2020, the NCTE Regulations, the UGC Guidelines, and the academic regulations of Sandip University. It also adheres to the rules, policies, and directives issued by the Government of Bihar for teacher education programmes.
The programme aims to prepare professionally competent, ethically responsible, and socially committed teachers for teaching at the Upper Primary (Classes VI–VIII), Secondary (Classes IX–X), and Senior Secondary (Classes XI–XII) levels. It emphasizes learner-centred pedagogy, inclusive education, competency-based curriculum, digital literacy, research orientation, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), value-based education, and experiential learning. The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with extensive school-based experiences, internships, community engagement, and reflective practices to develop competent teachers capable of meeting the evolving needs of school education in Bihar and across India.
The B.Ed. Programme shall extend over two academic years comprising four semesters. A Regulation for B.Ed. (2 Years Programme (Four Semester), Session – 2026 – 27 onwards), Sandip University, Sijoul. student-teacher shall complete all the requirements of the programme within a maximum period of three (3) years from the date of admission, failing which the admission shall stand cancelled, unless otherwise permitted by the University under its rules.
(A)Candidate should have passed the Bachelor’s Degree/Master Degree in Sciences, Social Sciences/Humanities/Commerce of any recognized university with at least 50 % marks. Or Bachelor in Engineering / Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics of any recognized university with at least 55 % marks. S/he should have offered at least one language school subject and one school subject at the first and/or second-degree level as a principal or subsidiary or allied or optional subject. (School subject means the subject included in the syllabus of Secondary/Higher secondary level of State/ Central Education Board in India). (B) The reservation and relaxation of 5 % marks will be given to the candidates belonging to S.C. / S.T. /O.B.C. /P.W.D. and other notified categories as per the Bihar State Government Rules. Reservation for admission will be according to the rules of government of Bihar.

Admission procedure: Admission to the B.Ed. Programme shall be made on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination and/or the Sandip University Joint Entrance Examination (SUJEE), or through any other admission and selection procedure prescribed by Sandip University, in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations
